Our Difference
What separates MARPE from other coaching and consulting companies working within healthcare is two-fold. First is the real-life knowledge and understanding of what it is to be a physician in today’s world, the workings of large healthcare organizations, and the overall healthcare system, that our founder, Dr. Cruz, brings to the company. The second is our philosophy. We believe that real and sustainable change can only be created by addressing the BEING prior to the DOING. What we mean by this is that whether we are working with an individual physician, a group, or a healthcare team we first focus on alignment of their core values, internal motivators, and purpose with whatever it is that they need or want to do in their professional and personal lives. Once we have done this, then we work on the doing, providing our clients with strategies and tools to consistently be and function at their highest potential. By having our clients first rediscover and commit to what is most meaningful to them, how they want to engage with their professional and personal lives, and what it is that they want to bring into the world, they establish a compass to navigate conflicts, challenges, and difficult situations. This creates self-confidence, mitigates stress, and increases ease at work and home. We also believe in the premise of “teaching our clients to fish versus giving them the fish.” This means that we help our clients create and establish a practice that supports their continued growth and ability to endlessly move towards their greatest self-actualization.
Current societal, cultural, and professional norms emphasize doing over being. Constantly focusing on doing without addressing the being may lead to temporary success, but in the long run is not sustainable and leads to burnout.
This is in part why the Healthcare system is currently facing a burnout crisis. As the healthcare market has exponentially grown over the last several decades changing how healthcare is delivered, physicians and healthcare teams have experienced significant changes in what is expected of them and how they work. More and more has been demanded of them, without considering their being. This has, in many cases, lead to lack of clarity on how the demands placed on them support their purpose and core values.
MARPE's goal is to alleviate these discrepancies and create a healthcare culture that supports and cultivates the whole-being of its physicians and teams so then they are empowered to work at their highest potential and serve their patients with reinvigorated purpose and passion.
